Athletics at Oxy
At Oxy, your liberal arts education transcends the classroom. We believe that health, wellness and athletic competition ae integral parts of the Oxy experience Nearly half of our students participate in 21 varsity teams, several club teams and an active intramural program. With access to a modern fitness center and a climate that allows for year-round outdoor activity, there are countless ways for our students to stay fit and active during their time on-campus.
Oxy has a storied history of athletic excellence that includes NFL quarterback and statesman Jack Kemp '57, NFL head coach Jim Mora '57, two-time Olympic gold medal diver Sammy Lee '43 and tennis legend and female athletics pioneer Pat Yeomans '38. For a small school, Oxy also boasts an impressive and proud tradition of Olympic excellence.
The best way to get to know Oxy is to come visit in person. We offer tours and information sessions Monday through Friday year-round. Saturday morning tours are also offered between Labor Day and early December, and in April.
Our student-led tour is an approximately one hour and 15 minute walk through the campus. The information session, which lasts 45 minutes and is led by one of our admission officers, provides more details about the college and the admissions process.

While admission ultimately hinges on a holistic review of your academic qualifications and your potential contributions on the field, in the pool or on the court - help us understand how you can add to the Oxy community as a team player, competitor and leader.
Don't forget to indicate your athletic interests and intent to play in the extracurricular section of the application. And, if you aren't already in contact with our coaches, be sure to complete a Recruit Form below so they can be in touch with you (and keep us informed about you) throughout the admission process.
