Perkins honored on d3football.com Team of the Week

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2009) – Junior linebacker Zac Perkins was named to the week 10 d3football.com Team of the Week following a stand-out performance as the Tigers erased a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Pomona-Pitzer 44-30 last Saturday afternoon on the road.
A nuisance to the Sagehens all afternoon, Perkins was instrumental in the comeback. The Santa Clarita, Calif. native was responsible for tying the game at 23-23 when he ran back a blocked PAT attempt for a safety. He then went on to intercept the P-P quarterback, returning the pick for 42 yards. Overall on the afternoon Perkins added eight tackles, all solo stops, with two for a loss of yardage, while breaking up a pass.
Perkins becomes the second Tiger and third SCIAC athlete to earn Team of the Week honors by d3football.com. Teammate and defensive end Alex Wertheimer has been recognized twice, in weeks three and eight while Whittier linebacker Brandon Boehme was recognized in week four.
D3football.com is the number one source for all Division III
football information and has recognized a team of the week annually
since the start of the 1999 season.
