LOS ANGELES — DJ Adams scored a pair of touchdowns and the Occidental football team found its ground game in its first SCIAC contest of the season, but Oxy fell 55-17 at Cal Lutheran on Saturday night.
Adams had a 6-yard score in the third quarter and a 2-yard run in the fourth. Oxy also scored three points in the second quarter when Kyler Parris hit a 27-yard field goal.
The Tigers rushed for 159 yards and picked up 20 first downs in the game. Brennan Golden had 16 carries for 74 yards, Adams had 22 yards on eight carries and John Isaac Cordova had three carries for 20 yards.
Oxy ran for just 25 yards in its last game against Willamette.
Oxy quarterback Josh Greaves had 17 yards rushing and 63 yards passing. Oxy's top receiving targets were Andrew Jack de Avila, who caught four passes for 50 yards, and Lucas Savoie, who pulled in four catches for 30 yards. Adams also contributed in the passing game with a pair of catches for 26 yards.
Cal Lutheran had a big day rushing the ball led by Chris Bell who ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
