Football focused on 2010 season

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2010) With a lot of new faces on the field as the 2010 season approaches, the objective remains the same: compete and succeed. Both are entirely achievable for the Black and Orange as a solid core of players returns to the gridiron, joined by an energetic and talented group of rookies. The ultimate goal is for the Occidental College football team to win a league title and return to the playoffs after posting a 7-2 overall record a year ago, finishing second in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Aug. 21, 2010) Occidental College head football coach Dale Widolff will be suspended without pay from Sept. 1 to Oct. 10 for violation of NCAA rules and internal college policies, college officials announced today.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 4, 2010) After leading the Tigers to an undefeated regular season in 2008, Justin Goltz was not ready to call it a career. His drive led him to the NFL, where in 2009 his passion landed him in training camp with the Detroit Lions. The newly resurrected United Football League will be where Goltz calls home in 2010. The 2008 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference offensive player of the year was the number one draft choice of the Sacramento Mountain Lions head coach Dennis Green.
EUROPE (April 7, 2010) Four recent graduates of the Occidental College football program are currently advancing their respective careers as professional football players in the United States and Europe. Jason Haller gets his first taste of post-collegiate ball while Rocky Ciasulli, Daniel Tromello and Andy Collins all continue their respective careers.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 24, 2010) Occidental College released the 2010 football schedule this week. The Tigers will play five of their nine scheduled games at home on D.W. Patterson Field.
Three standout Occidental athletes have been named to the inaugural class of the Los Angeles Unified School Districts Athletic Hall of Fame: Pat Henry Yeomans 38 in tennis, Sammy Lee 43 in diving, and Jack Kemp 57 in football.
