LOS ANGELESIsa Kibira won his fifth singles match of the year as the Occidental men's tennis team took down Pacific Lutheran (WA), 7-2 on Thursday.

Kibira, a junior form Minneappolis, beat Justin DeMattos at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2. 

Kibira has played as high as No. 2 singles and as low as No. 5. His overall record on the season is now 5-5.

He also teamed up with Trevor Brown for a win over James Okubo and Ryan Adams at No. 2 doubles, 8-5. 

Oxy swept the doubles to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Cameron Coe and Isaiah Bird beat Niko Convento and DeMattos at No. 2 doubles, 8-4, and Ivan Derrick and Vincent Bartholomew won at No. 3 doubles over Chan Thourk and Keith Petitt, 8-1.

Oxy dropped the top two singles matches, but took No. 3-6.

Derrick won at No. 4 over Thourk, 6-2, 6-2, Bartholomew beat John Woelfel at No. 5, 7-5, 6-0, and Dylan Morison picked up a win over Jose Godoy at No. 6, 6-1, 6-1.

Season Impact: Oxy improves to 4-7 overall.

Next Match: The Tigers are back in action against Caltech on Friday.
