LOS ANGELES, Calif.—The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced that Occidental College senior men's water polo standout Tai McDermott (Palos Verdes, CA) has been selected as an All-SCIAC Second Team honoree for the first time in his career.

McDermott has been a consistent force for the Tigers this season, starting in all 29 games, and notching a team second best 41 goals. He also dished out 26 assists and led Oxy with 34 steals.

With one tournament to go, McDermott has amassed 129 career goals, 97 assists, and 153 steals in his career at Oxy.

Occidental finished the season with a 3-7 record in SCIAC play and an 8-22 record overall. After taking seventh place at the SCIAC Tournament, the Tigers head to UC San Diego to begin post-season play in the WWPA Championships.

The Tigers start with Air Force on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

The winner of the WWPA Championship Tournament will get an automatic bid to the NCAA national tournament Final Four.
