Tigers Come Up Short Against Leopards

LA VERNE – The Tigers fell short of a come-from-behind victory at La Verne.  While the Tigers had quality looks at the goal throughout the game, they were unable to convert enough of their shots into, losing 14-10 on Saturday.

Down 7-3 in the second quarter, Dominic Rodriguez lobbed the ball to Matt Weiser for a quick goal to cut into the Leopards lead.

The Tigers found themselves in a hole in the third quarter with the score at 11-4. Occidental came crawling back with three unanswered goals to stay alive in the game, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

The Tigers had issues with fouls throughout the game. Three of La Verne's goals came from penalty shots.

Paul Bergevin led the Tigers with four goals.

Rex Sample and Rey Castillo each had three goals for the Leopards.

Adam Florsheim had 13 saves for Oxy.

Season Impact: The Tigers fall to 1-5 in SCIAC play. La Verne improves to 4-3.

The Tigers last home game will be Senior Day on Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. against Cal Tech.
