CHINO HILLS — The Occidental women's golf team survived a marathon weekend, placing seventh at SCIAC # 1 at Los Serranos Country Club on Saturday and Sunday.
The Tigers golfed played until late Saturday night and then had to return at sunrise on Sunday morning to finish up Round 1 before setting out for Round 2.
Kim, a first year from La Mirada, shot a 22-over par 166. Rocha had a 167 and Lundquist was at 169.
"I thought our team handled adversity well. It was a long day out there on Saturday," Oxy head coach Will Morris said. "We had to return early Sunday morning and face another long day of golf, but we were able to focus on what we could control and that was playing some pretty solid golf."
The Tigers were much better on Sunday than they were on Saturday, which is always a goal of the team.
"Our conference is so competitive that we finished seventh in this competition, but are still ranked No. 23 nationally in the latest WGCA Coaches Poll," Morris said.
Next Round: The Tigers are back in action at the Cal Lutheran Regals Invitational March 11-12.Follow Oxy Athletics on Twitter Sign Up for Newsletters Watch on Youtube Follow us on Instagram
