LOS ANGELES — Sierra Slack scored six goals and Alessandra Pelliccia added five goals, five ground balls, four draw controls and five caused turnovers as the Occidental women's lacrosse team crushed Berry, 16-9 at Jack Kemp Stadium on Wednesday.
Season Impact: The Tigers remain unbeaten in non-conference play, improving to 6-1 on the season.
Berry falls to 3-7.
Slack and Pelliccia have become a dynamic offensive duo. They are second among SCIAC players in combined goals with 47 between them.
Shai Goodman had a terrific all-around game too, finishing with two assists, eight ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Tigers.
With 4:54 remaining in the first half and the scored tied at 5-5, the Slack found the net on a free position attempt, starting a 10-1 Oxy run that lasted past the 13-minute mark in the second half and put the game well out of reach.
Oxy's defense was good too, holding its fifth opponent under 10 goals in seven games this year.
The Tigers won the draw control battle 17-10 and grabbed 39 ground balls to Berry's 25.
Oxy has outscored its opponents 100-53 so far this season.
Kelsey McAnnauly led Berry with three goals and one assist and Keiley Ayers had two goals and two assists.
