Oxy Falls to No. 22 Colorado College

LOS ANGELES — The Occidental women's lacrosse team couldn't knock off undefeated No. 22 Colorado College in a 14-8 loss at Jack Kemp Stadium on Saturday.

Oxy came out strong, going up 2-1 and was in the game for most of the first 30 minutes. Then Colorado College went on a 5-0 lead to jump in front 6-2 and take control of the game midway through the first half.

Colorado College put the game out of reach with the first four goals of the second half, going up 12-4.

Shai Goodman had a good all-around game for the Tigers, scoring two goals with one assist, six ground balls and three draw controls. Isabella Litt scored a pair of goals, Elizabeth Andrews and Alessandra Pelliccia had a goal and an assist, and Madisyn Hallare and Mia Jones each scored.

Corinne Bates had nine ground balls and three draw controls, Emma Barrow had six caused turnovers, Nicole Litt had four ground balls and three caused turnovers, and Emma Rogers had six ground balls to lead Oxy's defense.

Eva King led Colorado College with a game-high four goals.

Season Impact: Oxy falls to 5-4 overall.

Colorado College improves to 10-0 on the season. The Tigers are 3-0 with three road wins against the SCIAC, including a 10-goal win over Chapman and a 12-10 win over first-place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Next Game: Oxy is back in action on April 6 against Chapman at 1 p.m.
