Dovey earns NCAA mark as SCIAC Championship conclude

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2010) It was a new day at Belmont Plaza, but the results were the same for junior diver Sarah Sharpe. Not only did she earn her second title of the weekend, but she set a new meet record and qualified for NCAA Nationals with a B cut in the process. Day two of the 2010 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships were just as exciting as the opening day.

(Feb. 21, 2010) For the next three days the Occidental College mens and womens swimming and diving teams will compete at the 2010 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Belmont Plaza. A well rested squad will look to set some personal bests while sinking some school records in the process.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Feb. 17, 2010) She has been flying through the air, somersaulting, twisting and entering the water with little to no splash all season. This week, transfer Sarah Sharpes efforts were recognized by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as she was named the Athlete of the Week for her performance at the 2010 Diving Preliminaries where she earned the No. 1 seed on both the one and three meter boards.

(Feb. 14, 2010) She entered day two holding onto the No. 1 seed in the 3-meter diving competition set to take place at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships next weekend in Long Beach, Calif. and today Sarah Sharpe wowed the crowd again as she earned a first place finish on the 1-meter board while teammate Marisa Pulcrano placed third to advance to finals.
REDLANDS, Calif. (Feb. 13, 2010) As they have done all season long, the diving duo of Sarah Sharpe and Marisa Pulcrano soared higher and entered the water smoother than their competitors. At the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference diving preliminaries, hosted by Occidental College at the University of Redlands, Sharpe was the top finisher on the three-meter diving board, with Pulcrano right behind as the Top-8 athletes have qualified for the finals next weekend in conjunction with swimming SCIAC Championships at Belmont Park in Long Beach, Calif.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Feb. 6, 2010) It was a rainy, cloudy, gloomy day, but the pool deck was full of six happy, smiling senior Tigers as they were introduced at Taylor Pool for the final time of their respective collegiate careers prior to Occidentals final Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual-meet of the season. Both Oxy teams fell to Pomona-Pitzer, but not without some notable performances.
PASADENA, Calif. (Jan. 30, 2010) The Occidental College womens swimming and diving teams combined to sweep all 13 events, going 1-2 in four events, at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual-meet with Caltech today on the road. The Black and Orange defeated the Beavers 145-85.
CLAREMONT, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2010) Against the undefeated Claremont-Mudd-Scripps womens and mens swimming and diving teams, the Occidental College teams turned in a number of decent swims and earned a few first place finishes, but were out numbered and out scored by the Athenas and Stags, 169-68 and 176.5-58.5, respectively today on the road.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2010) The Occidental College womens swimming and diving team earned its first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual-meet victory of the season this afternoon when they kicked their way past Whittier College with a 124-112 win.
