Occidental athletes honored by SCIAC

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 18, 2009) – Following the fall season of 2009 a number of Occidental College athletes were recognized by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after being earning All-SCIAC honors.

Sweet sendoff for sole senior Tiger
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2009) – For the past four years Ashley Rosenbaum has suited up wearing black and orange, competing in Rush Gymnasium. While her career began as a basketball player, the last three seasons she has become a defensive specialist on the volleyball team. Tonight in her final collegiate appearance the Occidental College Tigers put together one of their best performances of the season as they swept past the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas 25-16, 25-19 and 25-21. The win pushed the Tigers into a tie with the Athenas for fifth place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference final standings.

Regals too much for Tigers on the road
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (Oct. 30, 2009) – For the last time of the season, the Occidental College volleyball team was on the road, in the second to last match of the 2009 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. Cal Lutheran University was too much for the Tigers, sending Occidental home with a 3-0 loss.

Tigers defeat Poets on the court
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 27, 2009) – Tonight in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball action the Occidental College Tigers defeated the Whittier College Poets three games to one to earn back-to-back wins.

Tigers go 2-1 over weekend
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 26, 2009) – The Occidental women’s volleyball squad earned a pair of victories over the weekend, pushing their overall record to 13-14, inching closer to the .500 mark with just three matches to play.

Tigers have Sagehens’ number
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2009) – Coming off back-to-back wins at the Cal Lutheran University Invitational last weekend, the Occidental College women’s volleyball team used the momentum to swing back into conference play, taking down the second ranked Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens in an intense five-game battle at Rush Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.

Another close one for the Tigers
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2009) – With two games decided by just two points at 25-23 and the third separated by five at 25-20, Occidental College continues to be competitive in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, but came up just short tonight at Rush Gymnasium to the University of La Verne.
