CHINO — The Occidental women's cross country team finished third at the SCIAC Championship at Prado Park on Saturday.
"I'm very happy with the way the women competed today," Oxy head coach Rob Bartlett said. "They worked hard to get to this point and were rewarded with a good third-place finish."
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps took first with 34 points, Pomona-Pitzer was second at 56 and Oxy was third at 89.
Next Meet: The Tigers are back in action on Nov. 10 at the NCAA Division III West Regionals at Whitman at 11 a.m. The Tigers can qualify as a team for the NCAA Division III National Championship with an automatic bid by finishing first or second. If they are lower they will have to rely on a possible at-large bid.
Oxy will go into the West Regional as the No. 4 ranked team behind Pomona-Pitzer, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and UC Santa Cruz.
"We're excited to get back to work and we look forward to the West Region Championship," Bartlett said.Follow Oxy Athletics on Twitter Sign Up for Newsletters Watch on Youtube Follow us on Instagram
