Ramirez, Oxy's No. 2 starter from Winnetka, pitched a two-hitter in all seven innings for the win as the Tigers beat Caltech. He struck out six batters, and didn't have a walk or earned run.
The Tigers completed their second consecutive sweep, improving their winning streak to six games and moving into second in the SCIAC at 10-5.
Ramirez is the fourth Oxy baseball player to earn national recognition on the Team of of the Week. Oxy outfielder Jack Brancheau, utility player Michael Netzel and first baseman Jake Fredrickson have all also been recognized for big weeks this season.
