Paine Named SCIAC Defensive POW

LOS ANGELES — Occidental center back David Paine was named the SCIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading Oxy's defense in a 110-minute shutout of Concordia (Texas) on Friday night.

Paine, a junior from Torrance, has been one of the best defenders in the SCIAC for the past two seasons. He is one of Oxy's captains and an intergral part of the Tigers' core.

Paine, an outanding biology student with cell and molecular emphasis, is well-liked and respected on and off the field in the Oxy community. 

Next Game: Oxy is back in action on Tuesday, playing St. Katherine at 7 p.m. at Jack Kemp Stadium.
