Matthew will be entering his first season as a member of the Tigers’ Coaching staff. He will be assisting Coach Bender with the throwers throughout the season. While helping with the Tigers throwers, he is also the current throws coach at nearby Glendale Community College. As he enters his fourth season at GCC, The Glendale throwers have been an instrumental part of the Men’s Team success the last 2 seasons as they have been crowned Back-to-Back Western State Conference Champions. Over the last three seasons, the GCC throwers have been named to 11 All-Conference teams, including a Conference Champion in Val Brantley for the Women’s Hammer and a CCCAA State Qualifier In Matt Velasco for the Men’s Javelin Throw.
Osherow attended Eagle Rock High School just over the hill where he was a member of both the Eagles’ Track & Field and Football teams. He graduated from Eagle Rock in 2011 and then attended Whittier College, where he was also a member of the Poets’ Track & Field team. While at Whittier, he threw the Shot Put, Javelin, and specialized in the Hammer Throw. He graduated from Whittier College in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He currently attends Loyola Marymount University’s Graduate School of Education, where he is working towards his MA in Secondary Education with a Social Science Teaching Credential.
