CLAREMONT — The Occidental women's basketball team ended its 2017-18 season with a 70-63 loss at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.
Oxy finishes the season 11-14 overall and 5-11 in SCIAC play.
Pomona-Pitzer moved to 8-17 and 5-11.
The Tigers rallied to outscore the Sagehens 30-18 in the fourth quarter, but were too far behind to complete the comeback.
Oxy senior Triana Anderson scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds in her last career game. The 2016-17 Second Team All-SCIAC selection from San Francisco finishes her career with 1,023 total points.
Alyssa Ramlochan scored 13 points with nine rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Tigers. Taylor Yoshida had eight points, Kendahl Wallis-Lang had eight points and nine rebounds off the bench, and Grace Baranowski had seven points and nine boards.
Emma Godfrey led the Sagehens with 30 points.
Oxy struggled from the field, shooting just 31 percent and 17 percent from beyond the 3-point line.
The Tigers season looked promising until they lost their best all-around player Tala Ismail for the season to a torn ACL in mid January. The sophomore is expected to make a full recovery by next season and will be back with a strong returning core that includes Shariah Green, Ramlochan, Emily Leonard and Yoshida.Follow Oxy Athletics on Twitter Sign Up for Newsletters Watch on Youtube Follow us on Instagram
