Tigers Take Down Falcons


LOS ANGELES — Playing down a handful of key rotation players, the Occidental women's basketball team took care of business against Cal Miramar, winning 70-39 at Rush Gym on Tuesday.

Madison Toy led four Oxy players in double figures with 13 points, Catherine Renneker had 12, Chelsea Brooks added 11 and Raveena Dhiman had 10.

Toy did most of her work from deep, hitting on 3 of 4 3-pointers. 

Dhiman was active on defense with five steals and five defensive rebounds, to go along with four assists. 

Renneker played big, leading the game with eight rebounds and two blocks.

Brooks played hard on offense and defense, finishing 5 for 11 with three assists and three rebounds. 

Oxy enjoyed a big league for just about the entire game, jumping out to a 19-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 33-19 lead by halftime. Oxy made a push in the third quarter and put the game out of reach.

Oxy was without key contributors Alyssa Ramlochan, Kulaea Tulua, Allie Morrison and Tala Ismail

Season Impact: The Tigers improve to 4-2 on the season.

Next Game: Oxy is back in action on Wednesday playing its first SCIAC game at Chapman at 7 p.m.
