Nallira Scores Career High 20 Against Chapman

LOS ANGELES — The Occidental women's basketball team fell at home to Chapman 85-63 at Rush Gym on Wednesday.

Kaleinani Nallira led the way for the Tigers with a career-high 20 points on 8 for 11 shooting, including going 4 for 5 from three. It's her third game in a row scoring in double figures.

Taylor Yoshida added 11 points, Emily Leonard had 10 points and seven rebounds, and Alyssa Ramlochan had four points, eight rebounds and four assists for Oxy.

Lucy Criswell led four Chapman players in double figures with a game-high 22 points, Jaryn Fajardo scored 17 points, Julia Strand added 15 and Marissa Dunn had 13.

Oxy led 19-18 after the first quarter and was in the game well into the second half before the rebounding started to catch up to the Tigers. The Panthers won the battle on the boards 46-23.

The Tigers were playing banged up and shorthanded due to a handful of injuries, showing fight and resiliency deep into the bench.

Season Impact: The Tigers fall to 7-13 and 1-10.

Chapman improves to 13-8 overall and 8-4 in SCIAC.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action at Cal Lutheran at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
