Oxy Women's Golf Performs Well on Day 2

PASADENA — The Oxy women's golf team had its best conference placing of the season, finishing fourth on Friday on Day 2 of the SCIAC Championship at Brookside No. 2.

The Tigers were only behind nationally-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Redlands and Pomona-Pitzer.

Oxy was led by first year standout Anna Kim, who is ranked ninth among all golfers with rounds of 80 and 78.

The Tigers' senior captain Samantha Rocha is on pace to finish her outstanding career with a strong championship. She currently ranks 15th overall with rounds of 83 and 79. Anna Lundquist is the third-best Tiger with a 176.

"I'm very proud of how well our team did today," Oxy head coach Will Morris said. "We improved from yesterday and showed we are capable of playing with any team in the country."

Oxy is back in action on Saturday at 8:04 a.m.
