LOS ANGELES — The Occidental women's soccer team had its five-match SCIAC win streak snapped in its regular season finale against Cal Lutheran 1-0 at Jack Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Mandy Crawford scored the game's only goal in the 25th minute and the Regals were able to hold on.
If the Tigers would have won, they would have been the No. 2 seed, playing a home game against the Regals on Thursday. Instead they will head to Pomona-Pitzer looking to take down the league's top team and highly-ranked NCAA Division III team.
The last time they met in the SCIAC Tournament Championship game last season, the Tigers won a thriller in penalties, clinching their first conference crown and trip to the NCAA playoffs.
Oxy is playing some of its best soccer at the right time. The Tigers have outscored their opponents 15-3 in their last six games.
