Porter Impresses at Distance Carnival

LOS ANGELES - The Occidental men's and women's track and field teams hosted their annual Distance Carnival on Saturday, March 10. 

There were a few notable performances on the women's side from the rainy meet. 


Sprinter LaShauna Porter ran a 12.36 in the 100m, putting her at 6th all time in Oxy history. 

Sophomore, Karin Uzawa, ran a PR in the 10k at 40:22, which puts her at 5th all time in Oxy history. Junior, Sabrina Thurber, also ran a PR in the 5k with a time of 18:15.

Oxy's hurdler, Allison Kilday, tried the 800m for the first time and ran an impressive 2:23.23.

Next meet: The tigers are back in action Friday, March 16th at the Redlands Invite.
