After losing their first three SCIAC matches of the 2006
season, Oxy came away with a 19-8 victory over Cal Tech at Taylor
pool on Wednesday. Sean Inoue ('09) set a school record with
eight steals in the game as Oxy used a strong press defense and
counter attack to take a 9-2 first quarter lead. Cameron
Brahmst ('09) led the Tigers with four goals to up his season total
to 43. Brahmst was ranked 25th in the nation in goals scored
coming into the game, and sixth in the WWPA. He currently
leads all SCIAC players in goals scored in all games combined this
season.
Abiel Garcia ('09) added three goals to bump his season total to
34 and put him in 39th place in the NCAA in goals scored so far
this season. Every Oxy field player scored at least one goal
in the match, including Jason Kayne ('10), who notched his first
career score in his second game played as a Tiger. Kayne had
never played water polo prior to attending Occidental.
