Student-Athlete Code of Conduct
Participation on an Oxy Athletics team is a privilege, not a right. When the behavior of student-athletes is not consistent with their Team Rules, Standards, Expectations, and/or Occidental College Code of Student Conduct, and/or the SCIAC Ethics and Conduct Statement, action deemed appropriate will be taken. The expectations for student-athlete behavior apply year-round and are not limited to the college campus.
Factors In Athletics Conduct Process:
-
Conduct offenses will be considered on a case by case basis, and in conjunction with the college's conduct procedures when applicable.
-
The athletics department will gather relevant information prior to rendering a decision which may include consulting with other offices on campus if appropriate.
-
Severity and impact of a violation will be a factor in determining the level of offense.
-
