Box Score CLAREMONT, Calif.
(Jan. 15, 2009) – A game that went back and forth between the
Tigers and Sagehens at the start turned in favor of Occidental
College during the second half of Thursday night's Southern
California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at
Pomona-Pitzer. Occidental returned home with a 62-51 win to push
their overall record to 10-4, with a 2-1 mark in SCIAC
play.
In a game that saw
six ties and five lead changes, the Tigers shot 40.3% from the
field as a team and grabbed 59 rebounds behind a trio of
double-figure scoring performances.
On a perfect 5-for-5
shooting performance sophomore Madeline
Rosefinished
with 10 points and seven rebounds. Stephanie Babij
led the pack with 12
points and nine rebounds on the night while Dior
Williams poured
in 10 points while adding eight boards, four assists and four
steals.
Additionally
Brianne Brown and Gillian Nugent
finished with nine
points apiece with four and three assists,
respectively.
OccidentalCollege will be back on the court
Saturday, Jan. 17 when the Tigers travel to Claremont, Calif. to
take on the Athenas at 5:00 p.m. prior to the men tipping off with
the Stags in a 7:30 p.m. night-cap.
