CLAREMONT — The Occidental men's water polo team opened the Gary Troyer Memorial tournament with a pair of victories over Penn. St. Behrend and Caltech on Friday.
The Tigers narrowly lost their third game of the tournament to NCAA Division I Forham on Saturday morning and lost their fourth of the tournament to Fresno Pacific on Saturday.
Season Impact: The Tigers are 2-9 overall.
Game 1: Occidental 12, Penn. St. Behrend 8

Matt Weiser and Paul Bergevin each scored a hat trick as the Tigers picked up their first victory of the season.
Bergevin had a game-high four goals and Weiser had three.
Oxy jumped out to a 9-4 halftime lead and was able to add three more goals in the fourth quarter for an easy win.
Game 2: Occidental 13, Caltech 4

Oxy made it two wins in a row with an easy victory over the Beavers. Topher Lacrampe and Henry Franscioni each scored three goals and Matt Munet added two.
Josh Needleman made nine saves for Oxy.
Game 3: Fordham 7, Occidental 6

Franscioni added two more goals, but Oxy fell in its third game of the tournament to Fordham. The Tigers were within one for most of the game, but couldn't quite get over the hump.
Game 4: Fresno Pacific 12, Occidental 5

After playing their best water polo of the season, the Tigers got off to a slow start, falling behind 4-0 after the first quarter, and never recovered in a loss to Fresno Pacific.
Weiser, Munet, Bergevin, Franscioni and Dominican Rodriguez all scored for Oxy.
