Weiser, Tigers Win Game 1 in SCIAC Tourney

LA VERNE — Matt Weiser scored three goals and Paul Bergevin and Alexander Zim each added two as the Occidental men's water polo team beat Caltech 8-5 in the play-in game of the SCIAC Championship tournament in La Verne on Friday morning.

The Tigers advance to play Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 3 p.m.

Josh Needleman made 11 saves in the net for Oxy.

Oxy's overall record improves to 4-18.
