LOS ANGELES — Five Occidental men's water polo players scored a pair of goals in an 18-12 loss to Whittier at Taylor Pool on Saturday.

Brett Luch, Alexander Zim, Theo Bass, Peter Blumberg and Leo Sonner all recorded two goals for the Tigers. Nicolas Lipari and Elijah Havens rounded out Oxy's scorer with a goal each.

Oxy goalkeeper Matt Weiser had four assists, four steals and 10 saves.

Aidan Tol led Whittier five goals and three assists.

The Tigers fall to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in SCIAC play.

Whittier improves to 3-7 overall and 2-0.

Oxy convereted just 3 for 10 on its 6-on-5 opportunities while Whittier went 6 for 10.

The Poets took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring Oxy 5-1.

Oxy is back in action at 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon facing Orange Coast College in the second game of its doubleheader.
