Tigers Put Out The Flames, 67-45

Los Angeles, CA –  On Wednesday night, the Occidental women's basketball team competed in their first game of the season against Bethesda University. After being down in the first quarter, the Tigers gained and maintained the lead throughout the rest of the game resulting in their second win of the season, 67-45.

The Tigers were led by Maylene U. Hughes (Sacramento, CA), 14 points, and Gabriela Etopio (Henderson, NV), 11 points. Etopio led the team with 10 offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds, and three steals. Off the bench, sophomore, Amaia McCoy (Las Vegas, NV) scored 10 points and three rebounds.

Bethesda put up a good fight against the Tigers with a 66.7% free throw percentage and their skillful movement of the ball around the court.

Next Game: Oxy hosts Linfield University on Monday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m.
