Los Angeles, CA – In another battle against Bethesda University, the Occidental women's basketball team take home their third win of the season. The Tigers swept all four quarters which is a great improvement from their previous game against the Flames. Overall, the Tigers ended the game with a 40 point lead, 65-25.
Leading scorer, Maylene Hughes (Sacramento, CA) led the Tigers with nine points with Resse Jones (Los Angeles, CA) and Kiarra Young (Honolulu, HI) not far behind with eight points each. First Year, Michelle Lagunas-Monroy (Henderson, NV), had an astounding defensive performance with 11 rebounds and four steals. The team had the largest lead of 40 points during the first quarter.
Bethesda helped the Tigers improve their game and team chemistry which will be essential for the rest of their season. The Flames were led by Isabella Ortiz scoring six points.
