Los Angeles, CA — As winter break kicks off for the rest of the students, the Occidental women's basketball team remains hard at work. In their seventh game of the season, the Tigers faced the Lewis and Clark Pioneers. Unfortunately, the Tigers' fourth quarter lead wasn't enough for a victory. The Pioneers leave Los Angeles with a 85-82 win.

It was another outstanding game for sophomore Toni Thompson (Newbury Park, CA) leading the Tigers with 28 points. Alyanna McGrath (Coral Springs, FL) and Mallory North (Redwood City, CA) follow Thompson with 17 and 16 points, respectively. After being down in the first three quarters, the Tigers managed to gain a three point lead in the fourth quarter.

Lewis and Clark made for great competition against the Tigers. Lewis and Clark ended the game with an impressive 70.8% free throw average. Delsie Johnson earned leading scorer for the Pioneers.

Next Game: The Tigers hit the road to attend the South Point D3 Invitational in Las Vegas, NV. Their first match up is against Concordia-Moorhead (MN) on Tuesday, December 28 at 9:00 a.m.
