Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental College men's water polo team hosted CMS on Wednesday for an exciting game, but in the end they were a little short, finishing 14-8.
CMS started strong and got the first five goals of the game before Oxy was able to get up on the scoreboard. CMS maintained a lead on the number of goals scored each quarter for the first three, with Oxy taking charge in the final quarter. However, the delayed start left the Tigers short at the end of the game.
Christian Guillaume, junior, was the top scorer for the Tigers, sinking three of Oxy's eight goals. Sophomore Nate Fisher was close behind with his two goals. Keegan Klien, Jarrod Norton, and Cian Concannon each got a goal, helping the Tigers with their deficit. Daniel Cruz and Dominic Rios each were essential to the Tiger engine in the pool, racking up two assists a piece. Goalkeepers Henry Grady and Cole Ivie kept the CMS attackers at bay with their key saves, two and four respectively.
Next Game: The men head to Caltech on Saturday, September 25 for a game at 11 a.m.
