Pasadena, CA — The Occidental men's water polo team played against the Caltech Beavers earlier this morning and maintained the lead for the entire game. In an impressive show of force and finesse, the Tigers out swam and out shot the Beavers in their home pool.
Overall, 12 Tigers scored, with Cian Concannon charging ahead of everyone else with four goals and one assist. Not far behind Concannon were Wilson Noll and Kellen Radkey each picking up three goals and Radkey also had an assist. The other Tigers that scored were: Daniel Cruz (one goal, one assist), Shea Grosz (two goals, three assists), Aiden Cawley (one goal, three assists), Keegan Klein (one goal), Christian Guillaume (two goals, one assist), Pete Buinauskas (one goal), Joseph Cox (one goal, one assist), Oliver Wilkins (one goal, thress assist), and Jarrod Norton (one goal).
In the Tiger Goal, we had Brandon Yeh, Daniel Cassel, and James Derrod who were all responsible for shutting down the Caltech offense with their key saves. Brandon Yeh had a great save and a save percentage of .333. Daniel Cassel had two big saves and a save percentage of .667. Finally, James Derrod had an excellent save percentage of .750 with his six key saves.
With this win, the Tigers advance their conference record to 2-1.
Next Game: Oxy will compete in day one of the Gary Troyer Tournament on Friday, October 1, 2021. Their first game of the day will be against Washington and Jefferson at 9:00 a.m. and the second game will be against Fresno Pacific at 2:00 p.m.
