Pomona, CA – Oxy's Tigers played an extremely competitive game against Pomona Pitzer this Wednesday.

Aiden Nolet started the game off with a two point layup, putting Oxy on the scoreboard first. Although Pomona's Johnny King tried to take a shot, Andrew Waldman's speedy defense deflected the ball back into the court. Unfortunately, Pete Boyle of Pomona-Pitzer was quick on the rebound and passes, confusings Oxy's defense and making a three point shot.

Playing a strong defense after Pomona's second shot, Kyle Dosa took his slim opening into a layup and brought the score to 4-5. Anthony Hollerich and Dosa brought their usual chemistry to the court, allowing the offense to sneak the ball around Pomona and put themselves back in the lead. When Joe Cookson of Pomona caught the rebound and went for a pass, Waldman's speedy defense came back into play as he stole the ball, brokeaway, and finished in a layup that kept them in the lead. Nolet, only gaining more minutes during these last few games this season, continued to make buckets five minutes into the first half.

Continuing into the first half Hollerich, Shipp, and Dosa all passed the ball between Pomona players and ended on Dosa making a beautiful 3-point jump shot that brought Oxy to 10 points, just barely keeping them afloat. This was until Pomona Player Brenden Mora made a layup shot that brought them back up. Pomona was able to keep making shots and staying in the lead until towards the end of the second half, when Noah Delorme made a layup that brought the ball to Oxy's side and ultimately allowed them to end the half with 34-33 on the scoreboard.

In the second half, Pomona gained some points when Matthew Eberle made a two point shot. Eberle seemed to be on his A-Game as he continued scoring for the first five minutes, bringing the score nine points ahead of Oxy. For the rest of the game, Oxy players Kyle Dosa and Andrew Waldman scored the most with Aden Nolet coming up from the bench this season as well. Even though the score ended in a 66-78 loss, Oxy's Tigers continued to play strong until the end.

Next Game: On Friday, January 14th at 7pm Oxy will be playing against the West Coast Baptist Eagles hosted by West Coast Baptist College.
