Los Angeles, CA – Another unfortunate loss for the Occidental women's basketball team as they were challenged by Pomona-Pitzer. The Sagehens stand second in the conference with a three win streak and made for tough competition for the Tigers. After two rough quarters of lagging behind, the Tigers take the lead in the third. Alas, the Sagehens come back to end the game and take home the win.
Toni Thompson (Newbury Park, CA) returns to the court leading the Tigers with 23 points. Alyanna McGrath (Coral Springs, FL) followed Thompson with 10 points. Both leaders helped to keep the Sagehens at bay by earning six rebounds each. Overall, with 11 conference games left, the season is still young for the Tiger to make their mark.
The Sagehens' ability to work together as a team was their secret weapon to triumph over the Tigers. Madison Quan was the leading scorer of the game with 15 points. Quan was followed by Kaitlyn Leung, Emily Church, and Amara Chidom who were tied with 10 points.
