Tigers Defend Home Court Against the Warriors

Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental women's basketball team hosted SAGU American Indian College for their second match of the season. In the first half of the match, the teams were even, but in the second half, the Tigers were able to blow past the Warriors. The Tigers were able to find their rhythm and each other very well, and it worked for them. Oxy took home the win, 81-53.

First year, Dara Tokeshi, made her mark on the court today. Tokeshi dropped 30 points on the Warriors with her back to back 3 pointers and layups. Gabriela Etopio and Michelle Lagunas-Monroy also had outstanding performances leading their team with 12 rebounds and 5 assists each. The Tiger reserves also deserve a shoutout for coming off the bench ready to battle and never letting the energy on the court drop.

SAGU was a very aggressive and skilled team and truly pushed the Tigers to excel in their game. Christin Bahe led the Warriors with 17 points with Mackenzie Barker not too far behind with 15 points.

The Tiger will continue on in their season when they host Lincoln University at Rush Gym on Monday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m.
