Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental women's basketball team traveled to Life Pacific University to play their first match of the season. It was a close game with both teams scoring 13 points in the first quarter. Life Pacific took the lead in the second and third quarter, but the Tigers were able to bounce back in the fourth. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to take home the win. The final score was 57-67, Life Pacific. 

Gabriela Etopio led the Tigers in rebounds in the match. Etopio was responsible for 7 of the 33 total rebounds. The Tigers worked very well together to create many opportunities for each other. Paige Yakukochi in particular had her eyes on the basket all night. Yakukochi led the Tigers with 10 points. Maylene Hughes, Dara Tokeshi, and Dominique Cabading closely followed Yakukochi with 9 points each.

Life Pacific was extremely skilled and aggressive. They went after everything they wanted and it shows in their stats. Rachel Spinosa was the star of Life Pacific, dropping 25 points for her team in addition to her 15 rebounds. 

The Tigers will be playing an exhibition match on Thursday, November 10 at Rush Gym against The Master's College at 7:00 p.m.
