Los Angeles, CA –In their final away game of the season, the Occidental women's basketball team traveled to Pomona to face the Sagehens. The Tigers rallied together to build a united front and put up a good fight for the victory. After leading the second and fourth quarters, the Tigers were unable to close the gap, ending the game 65-77.
The Tigers' support and love for one another carried them throughout their season. Each Tiger that comes off the bench is determined to make a difference on the court and add some pressure to the Sagehens. Alegria Lopez (Los Angeles, CA) and Michelle Lagunas-Monroy (Henderson, NV) are the perfect examples of this practice. Lopez and Lagunas-Monroy followed Toni Thompson (Newbury Park, CA), who led with 15 points, with 13 points each. The Tigers were aggressive with their game and it showed with their 44 rebounds as a team.
The Sagehens made for great competitors to help the Tigers improve for the next match. Their aggressive approach to the game made it difficult for the Tigers to work around forcing 11 turnovers and gaining 12 points.
