Los Angeles, CA – Occidental College played against La Verne University this last Saturday in a riveting match. 

Putting us on the board first was Anthony Hollerich with a three point shot, a trend that carried out strongly throughout the game. With 4:23 on the clock, Shipp and Hakl had a hefty comeback when Hakl snagged Shipp's rebound and tipped it in, closing the gap between the scores. Not to go unnoticed was Lopez's layups that helped the team stay up on the board.  

During the second half the game really picked up, a common trend for the Tiger's who were able to feed off the energy of the crowd. At 13:11, Lopez had a steal that allowed Hollerich to snag a jump shot that closed the gap even more. At 2:21, Waldman's jump shot brought the team just six points behind. Just a minute later, Anthony Hollerich's jump shots brought us just four points behind. As the teams went head to head, it became evident that their skill sets were on par with each other as the game ended with that four point gap. Overall, Oxy's cohesion as a team shined through during this game as their assists massively outnumbered the Leopards'. 

Senior night shout out to Michael Phaneuf!  Phaneuf was on the All SCIAC Academic Team for the last three years. Michael was a two time captain of the Developmental Team and is a current captain of this year's varsity squad

Next Game: Occidental College will be playing against Whittier College on Monday, February 21st at 7:00pm to end off their season.
