Los Angeles, CA – Yesterday, the underclassmen of the Occidental women's basketball team rallied together to highlight their four seniors, Clarissa Kiyomura (Pasadena, CA), Kulaea Tulua (Seaside, CA), Mallory North (Redwood City, CA), and Raveena Dhiman (San Jose, CA), and all they've accomplish during their time at Oxy. On the Oxy women's basketball Instagram story, the underclassmen recounted some of their favorite things and attributes these players brought to the team. Their energetic, humorous, and compassionate natures off the court in addition their skills and hard work on the court will truly be missed. 

To kick off Senior Day, all four seniors started off the game. Immediately, Kiyomura charged the court, making a layup in the first 30 seconds of the game.Toni Thompson (Newbury Park, CA) led the Tigers with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Alegria Lopez (Los Angeles, CA) followed with 15 points. Overall, the team put it all out on the court, but wasn't able to secure a win.

The Leopards' aggressiveness forced 14 Oxy turnovers and was able to win 37 rebounds over the Tigers. Jaelynn Curley helped bring home the victory by leading her team with 26 points.

Sadly, the Tigers' basketball season has come to an end, but we are excited to see what they will bring to the table next year. This team's determination, grit, and teamwork is something that carried them throughout the season. Those types of characteristics aren't something that's easily taught to players in a season. The coaching staff, led by Anahit Aladzhanyan, has done a wonderful job at creating a great atmosphere for their players to continue their love of basketball at a collegiate level. Although this is not the outcome they might've wanted, each Tiger should be proud of everything they've experienced this season.
