Los Angeles, CA — Oxy's game against Whittier College this last Monday started out strong with Anthony Hollerich immediately putting us on the board followed by a sick jump shot from Aiden Williams right after. For the next ten minutes of the half Oxy stayed in the lead as the team found their rhythm with each other again.
Into the second half the teams were going at it strong, constantly scoring back to back with each other. At 8 minutes left on the clock Oxy was able to tie with Whittier 69-69 and then again 30 seconds later at 71-71. For the next four minutes Oxy stayed ahead on the scoreboard, and it was not until there was two minutes left that the teams tied again with 80-80. In the last minute Oxy gave their best efforts however some awarded free-throws to Whittier allowed them to gain a lead on the scoreboard that, due to time, the Tigers were unable to counter. Overall, great efforts by the team matching the energy of the opposing players.
Next game: Wednesday, February 23rd at 7:00pm the Tigers will be facing Pomona at Pomona-Pitzer College
