Box Score Thousand Oaks, CA — The Occidental Men's Water Polo team played SCIAC opponent the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen on Wednesday in their first meetup since the 2022 SCIAC semi-finals where the Kingsmen defeated the Tigers during overtime. Christian Guillaume (Ventura, CA) was the first to score with help from Aiden Cawley (Chicago, IL). Then, Max Stone (San Diego, CA) scored with help from Cawley again. In the second quarter, the Tigers battled back and forth with the Kingsmen until Oliver Wilkins (Seattle, WA) beat the goalie on a shot with the pass coming from Stone. Shortly after, Danny Miller found the back of the net with the assist awarded to Cawley. With one second left in the second, Cawley scored his own goal of the game to leave the Tigers off on a high note going into halftime. After regrouping, Zane Derrod (San Diego, CA) scored two back-to-back goals with the help of Tate Miller on one of them (San Anselmo, CA). Then, T. Miller scored to end the third quarter. In the fourth, the Tigers defense stopped the Kingsmen from scoring any goals and Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA) converted a penalty shot to end the game. On defense, the Tigers had twelve steals, with Hughes and Cawley each taking three, and they also drew seven exclusions. Final Score: 9-6 Oxy
