Boston, MA — The Occidental Men's Water Polo team played MIT in their first game of the 2023 Harvard Invitational. Christian Guillaume (Ventura, CA) scored first for the Tigers followed by another goal from Raul Rodriguez (Miami, FL). In the second quarter, Zane Derrod (Chula Vista, CA) beat the goalie on a shot. Then, Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA) found his first goal of the game on a powerplay. With six seconds left in the first half, Tate Miller (San Anselmo, CA) scored to leave the Tigers on a high note. In the third, Hughes and T. Miller converted two more goals, bringing the Tigers one point away from MIT. The fourth quarter is where the Tigers found their groove, with Z. Derrod scoring two more goals. Hughes scored his third goal of the game, and Max Stone (San Diego, CA) and Guillaume found the back of the net to end the game. Final Score: 15-12 MIT
