Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Men's Water Polo team played Augustana University for their second game in the Gary Troyer Tournament. Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA) was the first to score as well as assist Zane Derrod (Chula Vista, CA) on a goal for the Tigers. Then, Christian Guillaume (Ventura, CA) struck next with help from Tate Miller (San Anselmo, CA). In the second quarter, Guillaume scored again with the assist awarded to Oliver Wilkins (Seattle, WA). Shortly after, Hughes beat the goalie on a shot with the pass coming from Z. Derrod. Then to finish off the first half, Guillaume scored his third goal of the game with help from Wilkins. In the third quarter, Hughes shot and scored with help from Aiden Cawley (Chicago, IL), and then Cawley scored a goal of his own on a powerplay. After a few minutes of back and forth battling with Augustana, Z. Derrod added another goal for the Tigers with the assist awarded to Cawley. With three seconds left in the game, Cawley found the back of the goal one last time, but it was just one goal short of tying things up with Augustana. On defense, the Tigers drew fourteen exclusions and had fourteen steals, with Wilkins taking three of them. Final Score: 11-10 Augustana.
