La Verne, CA – On Saturday, the women's volleyball team played the conference leaders, the University of La Verne, on their home court. The Tigers fell in three sets with set scores 25-9, 25-20, and 25-17. Considering the Leopards are undefeated in the SCIAC, the Tigers played well in the final two sets.
In the second set, the Tigers held the lead at two points, but when the score was 12-12 the Leopards strung seven consecutive points together to pull ahead. In the third set, the Tigers earned a few points at the end to delay the Leopards from claiming the match.
Ariana Caranza led the team with a double-double (14 kills and 11 digs). Aniya Hawthorne and Skye Garcia followed with six kills each. Camille Thé picked up 24 assists.
The Tigers return home tomorrow night when they host CLU at 7 p.m. in Rush Gym.
