Los Angeles, CA — Men's basketball played another good game at home against the Cal Miramar Fighting Falcons on Saturday night.Â
Oxy jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead as Jacob Koretz made back to back jumpers for Oxy. The Tigers got their lead up to 13 points at one point in the first half, but Cal Miramar was able to cut into the lead before the half closed.Â
The Fighting Falcons went on a 6-0 offensive run to get back to within 6 points when the first half ended. Oxy would respond with a big run of their own in the second half and got the lead back to 14 points.Â
About halfway through the second half, Sloan Ireland made a nice hook jump shot to extend the lead to 15 for the Tigers. Eventually the Tigers offensive power was too much for the Fighting Falcons and Oxy took their lead all the way to 30 points.Â
The Tigers would win by a score of 97-64, securing their 4th straight win at home. Jacob Koretz was on fire all game for Oxy, getting to his spots and making shots left and right. Koretz would finish with 28 points and 6 rebounds in the game.
Nicky Clotfelter and Aden Nolet also scored double digit points for Oxy. Jacob Hamermesh nearly had a double double with 9 points and 8 rebounds. It was another well-rounded effort by Oxy and they will look to continue their momentum on Monday November 20th against West Coast Baptist in Rush Gym.
