Claremont, CA – On Saturday, the Occidental women's volleyball team traveled to Claremont, CA for their final match of the season against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. CMS swept the Tigers in three with set scores of 25-12, 25-23, and 25-14. Although the team fell to the Athenas, set two being as close as it was illustrates that the team possesses the ability to put up a fight against higher-ranked teams.
Oxy was led by Ariana Carranza who posted 12.5 points for the Tigers, 10 of which were kills. Aniya Hawthorne followed with 7.5 points, six coming from kills. Lizzy Kerman and Camille Thé streamlined the ball to offense and snagged nine and eight assists, respectively. Leena Albelo was busy on defense, but managed to keep the Athenas in check with 15 digs, followed by Kerman with nine, and Skye Garcia with seven.
The Tigers end the season with an overall record of 4-19 and a conference record of 1-15.
