Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental men's basketball team was at Caltech on Saturday afternoon to take on the Beavers in the 110 Rivalry Game.

That would be the score heading into the locker rooms as both teams looked for the edge with the game being a close contest for the entire 1st half. Oxy would come out ready to play in the 2nd half, as Kyle Dosa made two layups on back to back possessions for the Tigers to tie the game at 35.

Dosa also hit two big 3-pointers with the second putting Oxy up 45-43 with 15:51 left to play in the game. The game would continue to remain close throughout as neither team was giving an inch or letting up.Caltech would gain a 4 point advantage with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game when Hollerich drew contact and got to the line for the Tigers.

He would drain both free throws to make the score 57-55 Beavers and Shipp then made a jump shot to tie the game at 57. Shortly after, Shipp hit a huge 3-pointer to give Oxy a 62-60 advantage with less than 5 minutes left in the game.

Hollerich and Shipp stayed clutch as the game came down to the wire as they made a jump shot and a layup to essentially ice the game and put the Tigers up by 6 with 1:44 left to play. Hollerich extended the lead with two free throws and Dosa would make a layup to seal the win for Oxy.

The final score would be 72-63 in favor of the Tigers. Anthony Hollerich led Oxy with 17 points while starters Kyle Dosa, Sydney Shipp and Andrew Waldman all contributed 16 points as well.
