Los Angeles, CA — The Oxy's women's soccer team took on the University of Redlands Bulldogs on Saturday night. 

The game started with Oxy putting together good offensive possessions and taking 7 shots in the first 20 minutes of the game. Redlands was able to block some of the shots and make them more difficult on the Tigers, keeping the score tied at 0. Lauren Cassel was able to get a nice look at the goal in the 18th minute but the Bulldog defender came up with the save. 

Oxy's defense was playing very well and prevented Redlands from creating scoring opportunities in the 1st half. The Bulldogs got off only 3 shots in the half with Ingrid Odmark coming up with the save on one of them. 

Jordyn Tribus was also able to get a shot on goal for the Tigers but Redlands' keeper made another save to keep the game scoreless, and the 1st half would come to a close in a 0-0 tie. 

Both offenses came out looking to gain the advantage in the 2nd half. Redlands had three shots that forced Odmark to come up with the save in the first 20 minutes of the half and Oxy had 2 shots on goal that the Bulldogs defender kept from getting into the goal. 

Oxy would put together a great scoring opportunity nearing the 80th minute of the game when Alessia Sachi would place a pass for Mia Steadman who placed a shot perfectly out of the reach of the goalie to get the Tigers on the board first with a 1-0 lead. 

Redlands was quick to respond with their own goal. After Oxy had prevented one of their scoring opportunities, the Bulldogs took advantage of an opportunity to score and tied the game at 1 a piece. 

With the game now tied, Oxy put together 4 shots that had to either be blocked or saved before getting a corner kick after one shot attempt was blocked out of bounds. Gigi Yamamoto took the corner kick and perfectly placed it for Mia Steadman to gather it and fire off a shot that would score the go-ahead goal for the Tigers with less than a minute to go in the game. 

Oxy improves to 2-1-1 in SCIAC play and will look to get another win in Thousand Oaks against California Lutheran University on Wednesday September 27th @ 7pm.
