LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Men's water polo fed off their impressive win on Wednesday with a 3-1 finish at the Gary Troyer tournament over the weekend.

Game 1 vs. Connecticut College – W, 25-5
Â
After a Camel goal to open the game, it was all Tigers for the final 31 minutes.
Aiden Cawley scored five goals, and a trio of Tigers pulled off hat tricks.
Lucas Washburn spread the ball around the pool with four assists.

While the Tigers led for much of the match, it was a 9-1 fourth quarter advantage that turned this one into a blowout.

The Tigers played all four goalies, and
Jack Schroeder did it again with a full-pool buzzer beater goal. He added six saves, and no goals allowed.

Game 2 vs. Penn St. Behrend – W, 20-7
Â
An 11-1 run to open the game was the dagger in this one.
Jacob Carlson led the Tigers with four scores, but seven Tigers had more than one goal.

Atticus Wahab-Holles had an impressive defensive showing, picking up five steals. As a team, Oxy picked up 20 steals.

Game 3 vs. UC Merced – W, 15-8
Â
This one a tougher test for the Tigers as their lead dwindled to three late in the third, but a Miller fueled 5-1 run – two goals from
Tate Miller and another from
Danny Miller – ended the game with a convincing 7-point win.

Travis Hughes led all scorers with four goals.
James Derrod and Schroeder split the game in goal, both allowed four goals.

Game 4 vs. LMU – L, 16-8
Â
The lone loss of the tournament for the Tigers came at the hands of Division I LMU. The Tigers have still yet to drop a match to a non-DI opponent.

In the final game of the weekend, it was all Lions for the first 12 minutes as LMU took an 11-0 lead. Oxy battled back, however, to end the game on an 8-5 run.

Zane Derrod and Carlson each picked up a pair of goals and were the only Tigers with more than one score.

Men's water polo is back in action on Wednesday, October 9 to take on No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer. The Tigers also await the CWPA rankings to see how their win over CMS will shake up the top-10.
